Channel Migration Zone studies look at historic movement of river channels and use a combination of flood history, geologic data and statistical calculations to anticipate future movement of the channel. The results of the most recent study, focused on the Clark Fork and Bitterroot Rivers within Missoula County, along with an interactive map can be found below.
