One of the main goals of Missoula City-County Health Department programs and services is to support healthy people and families.

  • Buckle Up Missoula County:
    Coalition to reduce deaths and injuries from traffic crashes through the use of seat belts and child safety seats.
  • Community Nutrition:
    Promoting healthy nutrition environments for Missoula County residents through education, partnerships, policy, and environmental changes. 
  • Diabetes Prevention:
    The Prevent T2 program helps people develop lifestyle habits to decrease their risk of diabetes, heart disease, and other conditions.
  • DUI Task Force:
    County-wide effort to reduce alcohol-related traffic crashes.
  • Healthy Relationships: Promoting healthy relationships and preventing sexual, intimate partner, and teen dating violence through outreach, education, and the Make Your Move! Missoula Coalition.
  • Let's Move! Missoula:
    The local branch of the national initiative to reduce childhood obesity through promoting physical activity and good nutrition in the places kids live, play and go to school.
  • Missoula Invest Health
    Missoula is proud to have been chosen to participate in the national Invest Health project sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundations and Reinvestment Fund.
  • Substance Use Disorder Prevention: 

    Preventing substance misuse and abuse in Missoula County by providing outreach and education to youth, parents, and the general community, as well as the coordination of coalitions that implement county-wide projects.

  • Suicide Prevention:
    Community collaboration to reduce Missoula County's suicide rate and link people to services.
  • WIC
    The Women, Infants and Children nutrition program provides healthy foods, information and local referrals for health and social services.
