The International Travel Clinic offers pre-travel counseling, immunizations and health advice for adults and children who are planning to travel outside the United States.

Because several weeks may be required to complete needed vaccine services, we recommend the initial appointment be made at least 8-10 weeks before departure.

Pre-travel consultations are available by appointment only: call (406) 258-3363.

Travelers will complete a simple questionnaire about travel plans, immunization history and medical history.  Please bring to your appointment a copy of your itinerary, a list of medications you take and your current immunization record.

Pre-Travel Visit

A pre-travel visit includes:

  • Detailed country information and risk assessment based on your itinerary. Review of routine vaccines, travel immunizations; available prescriptions for malaria prevention, treating traveler's diarrhea and preventing altitude sickness.
  • Travel vaccines (Typhoid, Japanese Encephalitis, pre-exposure rabies).  We are also a designated vaccination center for yellow fever and certification will be provided. As of 5/1/2021, we have Yellow Fever Vaccine in stock.  Please call with questions or view information from the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services.
  • More information on recommended travel shots from the CDC.

Travel Clinic Fees

Travel office visits range between $70-$115 depending on time and complexity of visit.  This does not include the price of vaccinations.  Most insurance does not cover travel vaccines, please check with your plan prior to visit as you may be required to pay at the time of service.

Because this program is self-supporting, none of the travel charges are on a sliding fee scale.

Note: Prices may vary depending on current vaccine prices.  Routine vaccines for children under 19 years of age can be billed to most insurance companies, or are offered on a sliding fee scale if the child is un-insured or under-insured. Travel vaccines for children (such as yellow fever or typhoid) are full fee.  We accept cash, personal checks or credit/debit cards (Visa or Mastercard only).  Payment is due at the time of service.
