What is WIC?

 

WIC is a nutrition program that provides monthly food benefits, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and community referrals.

Who can participate in WIC?

Pregnant Individuals

Breastfeeding Individuals

Postpartum Individuals

Infants

Children 0-5

 Guardians of Children 0-5

Yes, participants must meet household income guidelines

If you receive Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF benefits you may automatically qualify for WIC.

How do I sign-up for WIC?

 What foods does WIC provide?

Stop by our office, email, or call us! 
OR
Fill out our Self-Referral form and someone will call you. 

There is no application to fill out. Simply email or bring the following items to the office:

  • Identification
  • Proof of Montana residency
  • Current income documentation if you are not participating in Medicaid, SNAP or TANF

Where will my appointment be?

WIC does all first-time appointments in-office. After enrolled, participants can choose from in-office or phone appointments.

How will I receive food benefits?

Families receive monthly food benefits on a refillable card that can be used at WIC authorized retailers across Montana.

 Important notes about WIC benefits: 

  • WIC participation will not reduce SNAP or TANF benefits.
  • You do not have to participate in another program to participate in WIC.
