HEALTH MAPPING

The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) takes a data-driven approach to decision-making. Our current MCCHD data reports include the Strategic PlanCommunity Health Improvement Plan (CHIP), the Community Health Assessment (CHA) and internal use of performance measures. MCCHD also uses data mapping as a tool for visualizing and communicating data. The maps can be used for policy work, grant applications and strategic efforts to identify ways to support our effort to create healthy places for Missoula residents to live, work and play.

MISSOULA COMMUNITY HEALTH MAP

The Missoula community health map was inspired by the Missoula Invest Health planning grant, awarded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Reinvestment Fund. The map provides information on the relationship between obesity, mental health and the physical environment with an emphasis on low-wealth neighborhoods.

This Community Health Map Guide includes tips and tricks on how to best use the community health map.
