Purpose

The Water Quality Advisory Council (WQAC) is a volunteer council charged to provide support to the Missoula Valley Water Quality District Board for the purpose of protecting, maintaining and restoring the chemical, physical and biological integrity of the waters of Missoula County.

 

Meetings - Open to the Public

Meetings of the Water Quality Advisory Council are open to the public. The meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The meeting are currently being held as a Hybrid meetings.  For those who would like to attend in person the meetings are conducted in the Board Conference Room (Room 210) on the second floor of the Missoula City-County Health Department, located at 301 West Alder.  The meeting date and time are subject to change or cancellation.  

For those who would prefer to attend the meetings via Teams, the link to these meetings can be accessed through the Agendas posted the week prior to the meetings.

Members

The council consists of up to 20 volunteer members. In keeping with the council's charge, individuals are sought who have expertise in areas related to water quality, including hydrology, soil science, chemistry, natural resources and engineering.

Authorization

The Charge for the Water Quality Advisory Council was last revised and adopted by the Board of Health on December 20, 2018.
