The Fourth Judicial District periodically updates its local rules and are reflected here. For efficiency and cost savings, the rules are published online. If you'd like a hard copy and are unable to print the rules, the Clerk of Court will print a copy for a nominal fee.

Please be aware of possible application of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (significantly rewriting the Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act of 1940). Please pay particular heed to Section 201 et seq. Follow the link above to find specific provisions of the Act, or you can browse the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, Simplified.

Please note the following:

  1. All updates to the Rules are highlighted. Please take the time to review these changes in the local rules.
  2. The HTML (web page) version will be unavailable until it is updated to the latest version. A link will be provided below when the HTML version is completed.

The Rules of Practice are available in Microsoft Word, Adobe's portable document format and a standard web page. If you click on "PDF", you may be prompted to save the document, which may then be viewed in Adobe Acrobat.
