If you have a physical disability or are unable to read or write, you may ask an election judge to help you mark your ballot. You can also bring a friend or relative who, with the permission of the election judge, can go into the voting booth with you and help you vote.

Missoula County provides a specialized voting machine at each polling place, called an ExpressVote, which enables individuals with disabilities to vote independently and privately.

You may also designate an agent to assist you with the voting process. Download an application to designate an agent. Deliver the signed application to the Elections Office at 140 N Russell St.

In 2015, the legislature allowed for a voter with a disability to request an electronic ballot. The process works like this: The voter will submit an Electronic Request for Absentee Ballots to the Elections Office. Upon the time ballots are mailed to voters, our office will email a ballot to voters who have applied for the electronic status. The voter may mark in the comfort of their home their ballot on a computer. Once voted, the voter simply prints their ballot and returns it in an envelope packet furnished by our office.
